Over 700 Arrested in Nationwide Police Operation Targeting Crime and Illicit Offenses

A special island-wide police operation conducted on August 4 resulted in the arrest of 703 individuals suspected of involvement in various criminal activities, including illicit liquor and drug-related offenses.

The Police Media Division reported that during the operation, a total of 23,321 people were inspected across the country.

Among those arrested, 22 were directly linked to criminal activities, while 389 suspects with outstanding warrants were taken into custody. Additionally, police apprehended 97 drunk drivers, 18 reckless drivers, and identified 3,314 others who committed various traffic violations.

The police emphasized that these operations aim to target offenders involved in small, medium, and large-scale drug trafficking, criminal activities, and illegal firearm possession.
