Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith Alleges Foreign Influence Promoting Homosexuality in Sri Lanka

Colombo – His Eminence Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith has alleged that certain groups are collaborating with foreign organizations to promote homosexuality in Sri Lanka. He further claimed that some political parties and even political leaders are involved in these activities.

The Cardinal made these remarks on Monday (14) during a ceremony in Colombo to confer the honorary title of Agga Maha Pandita — awarded by the Government of Myanmar — on the Deputy Chancellor of Ruhuna University, Most Venerable Dr. Akuretiye Nanda Thero.

Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa, who also attended the event, emphasized that constitutional amendments should be made with special attention to protecting human rights.

The Cardinal’s comments have sparked renewed public discussion on the influence of foreign entities on Sri Lanka’s cultural and social policies.
