Police Uncover More Chemicals Suspected for ICE Production in Kandana and Tangalle

Sri Lankan police have uncovered another stock of chemicals suspected to be used in the production of crystal methamphetamine (ICE), this time at a residence in Kandana.

Authorities reported that the substances were very similar to the chemicals discovered earlier in Middeniya on September 6, which were also believed to be linked to illegal ‘ICE’ manufacturing. Police suspect the chemicals may have been brought to the Kandana location about four months ago. The seized stock will be handed over to the Tangalle Police for further investigation.

Meanwhile, police also discovered another cache of suspicious chemicals yesterday (07) in Netolpitiya, Tangalle. Based on information from local residents, Tangalle Police raided a property near Welivenna Cross Road, where they found a quantity of white chemical substances.

Officials believe these materials are likely connected to the production of crystal methamphetamine (ICE). Investigations are ongoing to trace the source and possible networks behind these discoveries.
