Two Arrested in Colombo with Rs. 27 Million Over Unexplained Funds

Two suspects have been arrested in the Park Street area of Kompannavidiya, Colombo, after they were found in possession of more than Rs. 27 million without being able to disclose the source of the funds.

The arrests were carried out by officers attached to the Colombo Central Crime Investigation Bureau during an operation conducted in the area.

Suspects Arrested While Travelling in Vehicle

Police said the suspects, aged 54 and 59, were arrested while travelling in a car.

The two individuals are residents of Colombo 13 and Colombo 14.

According to the Colombo Central Crime Investigation Bureau, the suspects failed to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding how they obtained the money.

Further Investigations Underway

Police have commenced further investigations to determine the source of the funds and establish whether the money is connected to any illegal activities.

Authorities said additional details will be revealed following the completion of the ongoing investigation.
