One Dead in Grandpass Shooting Near Mahawatta Clock Tower

A shooting incident in Grandpass claimed the life of a 26-year-old man near the Mahawatta clock tower last night (5).

Police stated that two unidentified gunmen arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on the victim, a resident of Kelaniya, before fleeing the area.

The injured man was rushed to the Colombo National Hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.

Investigators suspect a revolver-type firearm was used in the attack. The motive behind the killing remains unclear.

The Grandpass Police have launched an investigation to identify and arrest the suspects connected to the shooting.
