Government Launches “Seiri Week” to Dispose Unnecessary Items in State Institutions
The government has introduced a special program called “Seiri Week” to remove unnecessary items accumulated in state institutions. The initiative will be carried out from September 01 to 04.

According to the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, the program aims to create a clean, safe, and healthy environment in government offices, enabling officers to perform their duties more effectively.
Circular and Implementation
A special circular has been issued by the Ministry Secretary to all Secretaries of Ministries, Chief Secretaries of Provinces, Heads of Departments, District Secretaries, Heads of Public Corporations, and Statutory Boards.
The program will be implemented in line with the “Clean Sri Lanka” national initiative. Institutions are instructed to identify necessary and unnecessary items and properly dispose of all unwanted materials.
Guidelines for Institutions
The Ministry has also provided detailed guidelines for institutions on how to operate during Seiri Week, ensuring consistency across all state bodies.
This marks a significant step towards maintaining order, reducing clutter, and promoting productivity within government institutions.
