Several Light Showers Expected in Parts of Sri Lanka Today

The Meteorology Department has forecast several spells of light showers in the Western, North-Western, and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara districts today (August 11).

In addition, showers or thundershowers may occur in a few areas of the Uva Province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2:00 p.m.

Authorities have urged the public to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damage from temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
