Major General (Retd) Nalinda Niyangoda Assumes Duties as Chief of National Intelligence
Major General (Retd) Nalinda Niyangoda officially assumed his duties as the new Chief of National Intelligence today, October 28, at the Ministry of Defence in Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte.

He received his appointment letter from the Secretary of Defence, Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Sampath Thuyacontha, on October 27.
With over 35 years of distinguished service, including significant roles in the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC), Major General Niyangoda brings a wealth of experience to the position. He has held various critical positions within the Sri Lanka Army, demonstrating exceptional leadership and a deep commitment to his duties.
Before his retirement last year, he served as the Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army and as the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps, rounding off an illustrious career that spanned more than three decades.
