Seven Arrested Over Fatal Machete Attack in Seeduwa

Seeduwa – Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the fatal assault of a man in Seeduwa, along with two others accused of aiding them. The arrests were made yesterday (14) in the Dummalasuriya police division.

During the operation, officers seized three machetes believed to have been used in the attack. The suspects, aged 17, 18, 21, 25, 27, and 44, are all residents of Seeduwa.

They are scheduled to appear before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today (15).

Police investigations revealed that a group attacked a 40-year-old man in the Iriyagahalanda area on Tuesday night using sharp weapons. The victim, who sustained severe injuries, was rushed to Negombo Hospital, where he later died.

Seeduwa Police are continuing further investigations into the killing.
