BIA Departure Lobby Entry Restrictions Amended

Restrictions on entering the Departure Lobby of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) have been revised, according to Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited.

Last month, the company announced that visitor entry tickets to the BIA Departure Lobby would not be issued during peak hours on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Under those rules, visitors were barred from entering the lobby between 10:00 p.m. and midnight on those days.

However, in the latest update, authorities confirmed that the restrictions will now apply only on Thursdays and Saturdays, instead of three days per week.

The decision aims to ease congestion within the airport premises and ensure a smoother travel experience for passengers.
