Colombo Court Grants CID Access to Bank Records of ‘Panadura Nilanga’
The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has granted permission to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to obtain reports on the bank accounts of alleged underworld figure ‘Panadura Nilanga’, who is currently under arrest and in custody.

The order was issued yesterday (16) by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka S. Bodaragama, following a request made by the CID, according to court correspondents.
CID Submissions
The CID informed the court that a large volume of money transactions had been detected through two bank accounts linked to the suspect. Investigators stressed that examining these financial records is vital to ongoing inquiries into drug trafficking and other criminal activities allegedly connected to the accused.
Court’s Decision
After reviewing the submissions, the Chief Magistrate allowed the request and directed the two respective banks to provide detailed reports of the suspect’s accounts to the CID.
