Five Killed in Homagama Factory Fire Including Woman and Four Men

Five people have died following a major fire that broke out at a factory in Katuwana, Homagama, this morning.

According to the police, the victims include one woman and four men.

The fire broke out at a safety helmet manufacturing factory located in the Katuwana area, causing a major emergency response from fire authorities.

Firefighters Deployed from Several Areas

The Fire Services Department deployed multiple fire trucks from Colombo, Dehiwala, Kotte, and Horana to control the blaze.

More than six fire service vehicles were sent to the location as firefighters worked to contain the rapidly spreading fire.

Authorities are expected to conduct further investigations to determine the cause of the fire and establish the circumstances that led to the deaths.

Further details regarding the victims and the extent of the damage are expected to be released following the completion of initial investigations.
