Heroin Racket Busted in Panadura: Funeral Parlour Owner and Mother Arrested
Two individuals have been arrested for operating a heroin racket under the guise of a funeral parlour by officers of the Panadura North Police, police said.

The suspects — a 39-year-old man and his 69-year-old mother — were taken into custody yesterday (25) during a raid carried out following a tip-off. Police said 21 grams of heroin were recovered during the operation.
According to investigators, the arrested male is the owner of the funeral parlour, which was allegedly being used as a front for narcotics distribution.
Police said further investigations are being conducted under the Money Laundering Act to determine the full extent of the operation and any possible links to wider drug networks.
The suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Panadura Magistrate’s Court today (26).
