Sri Lanka records over 62,000 tourist arrivals in first 12 days of October
Sri Lanka welcomed 62,741 tourists during the first 12 days of October, according to the latest data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).

India continues to be the leading source market, with 18,299 visitors — accounting for 29.2% of total arrivals. Meanwhile, 5,417 tourists arrived from China, 4,874 from the United Kingdom, 3,804 from Germany, and 2,954 from Australia.
With these latest figures, the total number of tourist arrivals in 2025 has reached 1,788,235. Among them, 292,633 visitors are from India, 166,767 from the UK, 125,035 from Russia, 110,792 from Germany, and 107,007 from China, according to the SLTDA.
In comparison, 158,971 foreign nationals visited Sri Lanka in September 2025 — marking a 30.2% increase from September 2024.
