The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced that electricity tariffs will remain unchanged for the upcoming quarter.

PUCSL Chairman Prof. K. P. L. Chandralal, speaking at a media briefing in Colombo, stated that after public consultations and a thorough review of electricity calculation methodologies, the commission decided not to increase tariffs for the next three months.

Earlier, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) had proposed a 6.8% tariff hike for the final quarter of 2025. The PUCSL noted that it had sought public opinion on the proposed amendments before finalizing the decision.

This move aims to ensure stable electricity costs for consumers while maintaining transparency in tariff-setting processes.
