Colpetty Rs. 20 Million Robbery: Former State Minister’s Son Arrested
Police have handed over further investigations into the alleged robbery of Rs. 20 million belonging to a Chinese national in Colpetty to the Colombo Central Crimes Investigation Bureau.

The decision was taken as investigations into the high-value robbery continue following several arrests linked to the incident.
Former State Minister’s Son Arrested
Police stated that the 21-year-old son of former State Minister Shantha Bandara was arrested by the Colpetty Police yesterday in connection with the robbery.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced before court today.
Three Others Already Remanded
The robbery occurred on July 13, when the Chinese national was transporting the money in a vehicle.
Police have already arrested three other individuals in connection with the incident, and they have been remanded by court.
Authorities stated that among the suspects is also the grandson of a prominent businessman.
Further investigations into the alleged robbery are being conducted by the Colombo Central Crimes Investigation Bureau to identify all individuals involved and uncover further details regarding the incident.
