Water Supply Disruption Announced in Wellawatte and Pamankada for Essential Upgrade Work
Water Supply to Wellawatte and Pamankada to Be Suspended Tonight
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a temporary suspension of water supply to several areas in Colombo due to essential infrastructure improvement work.
Accordingly, residents in Wellawatte and Pamankada will experience a water supply interruption for a period of seven hours starting from 10.00 p.m. tonight.
Temporary Shutdown for Water System Improvements
The NWSDB stated that the interruption is necessary to carry out essential upgrading activities under the Greater Colombo Water and Wastewater Management Project Enhancement Programme.
Authorities said the planned suspension will allow technical teams to complete required improvement work aimed at strengthening the efficiency and reliability of the water distribution system in the Greater Colombo area.
Residents Advised to Store Necessary Water Supplies
Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance by storing sufficient water supplies before the scheduled interruption.
The NWSDB stated that normal water supply services will resume after the completion of the improvement work.
