Train Services on Kelani Valley Line Limited Following Derailment

Train operations along the Kelani Valley Line have been temporarily restricted to the Kosgama Railway Station, the Railway Control Room confirmed.

The restriction comes after a train traveling from Colombo to Avissawella derailed between Puwakpitiya and Avissawella stations last evening (September 8).

The Department of Railways stated that the incident occurred near Puwakpitiya in Avissawella, prompting the decision to limit services along the affected route.

Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly while train services are adjusted.
