13 Injured in Medawachchiya Bus-Lorry Crash; Mother and Son Killed in Separate Accident
Thirteen people have been injured after a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus collided with a lorry transporting roof tiles in the Medawachchiya area.

Police said the injured were admitted to the Medawachchiya and Vavuniya hospitals for medical treatment.
According to preliminary investigations, the lorry had been parked on the side of the road after experiencing a mechanical failure.
Police said the SLTB bus driver subsequently lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the rear of the stationary lorry.
Mother and son killed in separate road accident
Meanwhile, two people were killed in a separate road accident in the Damaniya area along the Bakamuna-Dambulla road.
The accident occurred during the early hours of today when a luxury passenger bus collided with a motorcycle.
Police identified the deceased as a 63-year-old mother and her 43-year-old son.
The driver of the luxury bus has been arrested in connection with the fatal accident.
Police are conducting further investigations into both incidents to determine the circumstances surrounding the crashes.
The accidents come amid continuing concerns over road safety and the number of serious crashes involving passenger buses and other vehicles across Sri Lanka.
