A special meeting with relevant officials is scheduled to be held today (14) to expedite the restoration of online government services disrupted by a technical issue affecting eight departments.
According to the Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Economy, the meeting will take place this morning to review progress and coordinate immediate recovery efforts.

The Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) announced yesterday that due to a disruption in the Lanka Government Cloud (LGC), several online services operated by various government institutions were temporarily affected.
The impacted systems include the Birth, Marriage, and Death (BMD) Certificate System of the Registrar General’s Department, the e-Revenue License System (eRL 2.0) of Provincial Departments of Motor Traffic (except the Western Province), the Police Clearance System of the Department of Police, the Country of Origin Certificate Issuance Online System of the Department of Commerce, and several websites including those of the Department of Meteorology, Registrar of Companies, and Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Board.
ICTA engineers and the service provider are working continuously to restore services as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, the Registrar General’s Department announced that certificate copies can still be obtained manually from the Divisional Secretariat where the original certificate was issued.
All stakeholder organizations, including the Department of Police, have been updated on the rectification progress.
While the restoration of LGC services remains a top priority, ICTA noted that existing capacity and operational constraints are expected to ease through the ongoing expansion phase of the LGC, which began in October 2025.
ICTA apologized for the inconvenience caused to the public and institutions hosted on the LGC and reiterated its commitment to restoring full service as soon as possible.
