Suspect Arrested for Recording Video Near Residences of Chief Justice and IGP

COLOMBO: Cinnamon Gardens Police have arrested a suspect accused of recording video footage near the official residences of Sri Lanka’s Chief Justice and Inspector General of Police (IGP).

According to Police, the suspect is a 40-year-old rental vehicle driver residing in the Panadura area.

The arrest was made by officers attached to the Cinnamon Gardens Police following investigations into the alleged recording of video footage near the residences of the two senior state officials.

Police have not disclosed further details regarding the purpose of the recordings or whether the suspect was acting alone.

The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Aluthkade Magistrate’s Court today, where further legal proceedings are expected.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
