Three Killed, Including Seven-Year-Old Girl, in Delgoda Road Accident

Three people, including a seven-year-old girl, have died following a road accident in the Delgoda area along the New Kandy Road in Meegahawatta, police said.

The accident occurred when a three-wheeler travelling from Biyagama towards Delgoda collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction.

Three-Wheeler Occupants Killed

Police said the three deceased were travelling in the three-wheeler at the time of the collision.

They have been identified as a 69-year-old three-wheeler driver, a 39-year-old woman and a seven-year-old girl.

All three sustained serious injuries in the crash and were admitted to Udupila Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Three Others Injured

Three other people were also injured in the accident and were receiving medical treatment.

Police have arrested the driver of the car involved in the collision.

Further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal accident.
