Police Arrest Suspect Linked to Dematagoda Shooting Attempt
Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the attempted shooting of a man in the Kuppiyawatta area of Dematagoda.
The main suspect, a 23-year-old resident of Borella, was arrested during an operation conducted in the Lake Drive area based on information received by police.
Ice Drug Recovered During Arrest
Police said that 10 grams and 900 milligrams of Ice (crystal methamphetamine) were recovered from the suspect’s possession at the time of the arrest.
The suspect was taken into custody for further questioning as investigations continue into the shooting attempt.
Suspect Allegedly Transported Gunman
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested individual allegedly acted as the motorcycle rider who transported the gunman to the location where the attack was carried out.
Police are investigating the suspect’s involvement and are gathering further evidence regarding the incident.
Second Suspect Also Arrested
Meanwhile, police have also arrested another individual in connection with the shooting attempt.
The second suspect is a 24-year-old resident of Borella.
Investigators are currently examining the role of the second suspect and whether he was directly involved in planning or assisting the attack.
Police stated that further investigations are underway to identify all individuals connected to the incident and determine the circumstances behind the attempted shooting.
